Protect what you keep.
Correct it first.
The order is the whole thing. A coating is transparent and it lasts for years, so whatever your paint looks like on the day it goes on is what you have locked in.
Nissan ceramic coating is a sound investment on a car you intend to keep, provided it goes on in the right order. A coating is transparent and it is permanent for its service life, so whatever the paint looks like on the day of application is what gets sealed in — swirls, wash marring and etching included. That is why correction always comes first, and why the correction is the part worth paying attention to when comparing quotes. On chemistry, a traditional ceramic is a rigid silica layer: strong gloss and water repellency, but it cannot repair itself, so marks introduced by the next few years of washing accumulate permanently. The Recon Pros corrects first, gauges every panel, then installs Revivify self-healing coating exclusively, so light marring closes back up under heat from the sun or warm rinse water. Packages start at $1,495 in Huntington Beach, confirmed after inspection.

What a ceramic coating does — and why we install Revivify instead.
A ceramic coating is a liquid silica (SiO2) layer that cures into a hard, glass-like film bonded to your clear coat. It does real work: strong gloss, water and dirt that release far more easily, better resistance to UV, bird droppings, bug acid and road chemicals, and a car that is genuinely quicker to wash. Those benefits are not marketing — a good ceramic delivers them, and it is a legitimate step up from wax or sealant.
The limitation is that it cures rigid. A hard film cannot flex, so it cannot repair itself — every swirl your wash mitt puts in it stays, and any defect already in the paint underneath is sealed in for the life of the coating. That is why The Recon Pros installs Revivify exclusively instead. Revivify is a urethane-based self-healing protective coating: it stays flexible, so light marring closes back up under heat from the sun or warm rinse water rather than accumulating. Same gloss, same hydrophobics, same chemical resistance — and the finish still looks corrected in year three.
So if you are researching a ceramic coating for your Nissan, you are in the right place — just know we will recommend the self-healing route and explain exactly why before you book anything.
What Revivify self-healing coating actually is →The cheapest coating quote is usually the smallest correction.
Coating quotes vary wildly, and it is almost never the coating that differs. The variable is how many hours of correction sit underneath it — a rinse, a quick one-pass polish and a coating can be sold as the same service as a measured two-stage correction and a coating.
The difference does not show on the invoice. It shows the first sunny afternoon, permanently, because the coating went over the top of whatever was left. Ask any shop how many correction stages are included and what they measure before starting.

The questions that separate a real correction-and-coating job from a wash-and-seal.
| Capability | A wash-and-seal | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Paint measured? | No — same process every car | Every panel gauged before and after each pass |
| Correction stages | One pass, or none | Calibrated to the paint's measured condition |
| Inspection lighting | Overhead shop lights | Multi-angle SunGun and LED |
| What the coating hides | Whatever was left behind | Nothing — it goes on clean paint |
| Future marring | Permanent | Light marks close back up under heat |

We install one coating because we know it inside out. Mel Craig is a master Revivify installer and trains the U.S. network.
Paint thickness is measured and logged before and after each pass. We never polish to a fixed recipe.
A coating cannot remove a defect — it seals it in. Nothing gets coated here until the paint reads clean.
